PR: Misguided Representatives Betray New Hampshire’s Parents and Children

EAST DERRY, N.H.—In a shocking nod to the radical left, Democrats and 14 misguided Republicans voted to kill New Hampshire’s Parents’ Bill of Rights, protecting educators who keep secrets from parents and intentionally contradict and pervert children’s upbringing.

Every single Democrat and these 14 Republicans voted against parental rights on Thursday, May 26.

The 171-176 vote in the N.H. House to kill HB 1431, which had already passed 14-10 in the Senate, opposes the opinion of 85 percent of New Englanders according to a Parental Rights Foundation survey. In the survey, results of which are expected next week, respondents agreed that, “In general, parents have the constitutional right to make decisions for their children without government interference unless there is proof of abuse or neglect.”

“The people who voted to defend groomers, who are intentionally corrupting the innocent minds of our children, have betrayed every family in the state and defied their oath of office to defend the Constitution, under God,” said Andrew J. Manuse, chairman of RebuildNH. “Families are the fundamental building block of our civil society. Every time we do not stand up to protect parent’s rights as paramount, we are allowing the State to undermine our fundamental liberty.”

Last week, the governor tweeted his intent to veto the Parents’ Bill of Rights. With today’s vote, the governor’s political supporters in the House have attempted to give him cover. The bill’s defeat comes just days after Gov. Chris Sununu vetoed HB 1131, the bill that would have prohibited masking children in schools. That action itself was an affront on parents and the way they choose to raise their children.

“The people of New Hampshire cannot forget that within one week, Gov. Sununu has acted twice against parental rights and in favor of state power over our most precious population,” said JR Hoell, treasurer of RebuildNH. “Unfortunately, we see a pattern of elected officials choosing entrenched state power over parents, children, and families.”

With the filing period for state offices open only from June 1 to June 10, it is time right now for concerned citizens who care about families to consider becoming candidates for office.

“Unfortunately, too many Republicans fell for the lies of the extreme left,” said Rep. Melissa Blasek (R-Merrimack), executive director of RebuildNH. “We need more elected officials who understand that defending the rights of parents must be the top priority for New Hampshire right now, particularly following two years of unprecedented state power.”

  1. That is disgusting that Republicans would vote against Parental Rights. We need to replace those kind of republicans. I hope that we can know the names of those people.

  2. Where can I find the list of republications that voted to kill HB 1431. They CAN NOT be re-elected! Thank you for all your efforts, I love getting updates from you.

  3. I am a retired teacher; I taught for 36 years. I absolutely believe that parents are ultimately responsible for raising and caring for their own children.
Any time that I observed or heard any concerning, atypical, or controversial behaviors or comments from a student, my immediate thought and duty was to CONTACT and INFORM the student’s parents!! I usually called or emailed and asked the parents to conference with me about my observations. That is what should normally and regularly occur.
The only exception for not contacting parents would be reportable signs of student abuse or neglect and in that case teachers have a legal duty to contact the appropriate authorities.

  4. Post the names of the Republicans who voted against this bill please. This is outrageously against parents.

  5. Where can we see the names of those who voted HB1431 down? They are evil and arrogant, and need to be voted out of office!!!

  6. Very interesting…. Do any of the nay voters have children? Do they want teachers or schools undermining their choices in raising their children? If their children’s teachers hold opposing views – politically, morally, or in any way – do they want those views pressed onto their children?

It is just crazy to me to think that these people don’t realize that the wind can shift and it could be THEM and THEIR children who could be affected by what is taught in schools. (Okay… it is unlikely the school system will ever become upstanding and teach truth, righteousness, and justice, I realize, but the pendulum DOES swing.)

I actually can’t believe there are any thinking people who still send their children to government, tax-funded schools. I knew within a week or so of my son’s birth that I wanted to homeschool. That was 29 1/2 years ago. I didn’t send him to school a single day in his life. With almost 30 years of it getting even worse, how can people still be willing to sacrifice their children to the corrupt system and send them into those places of mass indoctrination and unknown influence? It boggles the mind.
