The voter guide is a combination of previous voting records with RebuildNH and survey results for those without a voting record. This a completely objective guide of calculations. We do not incorporate any subjective metrics.
Critical Race
State Senate District 23 has a critical primary between incumbent Bill Gannon and challenger Emily Phillips. Bill Gannon has no voting record with us from the ’23-’24 term because the Senate didn’t roll call enough bills to calculate a score. They do this on purpose to avoid accountability. His score with RebuildNH from the ’21-’22 term was a 66%. Emily Phillips has a 100% with RebuildNH.
The Senate has been the biggest obstacle historically for RebuildNH. A lot of our great bills get killed there. The Senate is ruled by lobbyists and special interests, and it is difficult to get the Senators to pay attention and understand bills that don’t have the weight of big money behind them. And they rarely roll call any of the bills so we can hold them accountable in the next election.
In fact the Senate is so controlled by lobbyists that the Senate GOP PAC itself is run by a lobbyist who has been hired to oppose RebuildNH issues. A significant portion of his firm’s revenues are predicated on maintaining control over the Senator’s actions while in office.
The Senate GOP PAC has run a vicious, dirty, and MOST IMPORTANTLY DISHONEST campaign against Emily Phillips to keep Bill Gannon in his seat.
