HB396 Veto Override: So Close
In other news: the veto override on HB396, the Food Freedom Act, did not succeed. The bill fell just 3 votes short of the two-thirds majority needed.
But make no mistake, the legislature took plenty of notice of all your calls and emails. Coming within 3 votes of an override is a testament to the pressure you all applied.
Food freedom is a bipartisan issue, and we are confident this policy is inevitable. We’ll be back next session to bring this legislation across the finish line. Thank you for standing with us.
