Tell The Executive Council To Vote No [Update!]

TOMORROW Wednesday, December 4, the Executive Council will vote on the nominee for State Librarian, Mindy Atwood. If you have not done so already, please contact your Executive Councilor and tell them to oppose this nomination.

Mindy Atwood has a history of promoting progressive library policies, including preventing school boards from removing pornographic materials. This nominee will use her position as State Librarian to continue her political advocacy efforts and undermine parents and school boards.

The Executive Council will also vote on a proposed contract  with Dartmouth Hitchcock for a seven year lease of Hampstead Hospital, which is a mental health hospital for children. This 138 page contract was only released to the Council during the holiday weekend.
Please ask the Executive Council to table this contract until they have had adequate time to review the contract.

Update

Because of your activism, we were successful today in the Executive Council meeting!

  • Governor Sununu revoked the nomination of Mindy Atwood
  • The Dartmouth Hitchcock contract was tabled

It really does take everyone working together to produce results. Activism does work. Thank you to everyone who helped.

Next, we need a great state librarian candidate and to carefully review the proposed contract. I’ll discuss the contract later, but if anyone has ideas on a good state librarian candidate, please let me know.
